Planning a weekend trip to Sedona or Vegas? Take the plane. Unlike schools and other rentals that charge you minimum hours per day just for holding the aircraft, our members pay $0 in daily minimums.

Notes:
Professional Stacked Blocks: Professional members may book two consecutive 3.5-hour blocks (7 hours total) for extended day trips. This counts as their 2 active bookings.
The Priority Rotation: Only Professional Members may book the aircraft for multi-day/overnight trips. This is limited to one weekend per month for the aircraft, managed via a rotating 1-4 priority draft among the four Professional Members.
Dry Rate: All memberships are “Dry”. Members are responsible for the cost of fuel and oil consumed during their flight.
Terms of Membership: All pilots must review and agree to our full Terms and Conditions. Including fuel management, insurance requirements, and scheduling policies prior to application approval.

At Jaybird Flight, we don’t believe in the 2-hour dash. Our schedule is built around 3.5 hour blocks starting at 0500 hours, allowing you to beat the Arizona heat and actually complete a cross-country mission. Whether it’s a sunrise run to Sedona with the family or an evening proficiency flight, our 4-slot daily model ensures maximum availability for every member of Jaybird.

Yes, we utilize a dry-rate membership model to keep your monthly costs as low as possible. You only pay for the fuel you burn. This allows you to lean the mixture for economy or push for speed-you’re in control of your flight’s variable costs. Members are required to return the aircraft with fuel at the tabs after every flight. You can utilize the self-serve pumps at Falcon Field or call a fuel truck to top-off. This ensures the next member always walks out to a ready to fly aircraft.

To maintain our high safety standards and keep premiums low for the members, we require all members to hold at least a Private Pilot Certificate and a current Medical/Basic Med. Additionally, we require a simple one-hour checkout flight with a CFI/CFII to ensure you’re comfortable with the avionics and the aircraft’s specific flight characteristics. Lastly, while Jaybird Flight maintains a master policy for the aircraft, every member is required to maintain their own non-owned aircraft (renters) insurance policy. This protects both you and us in the event of an incident. This double layer of protection is a standard safety requirement for our group.

Absolutely, Jaybird Flight is instructor-agnostic. Whether you’re working on your Instrument Rating or a Commercial Certificate, you are welcome to bring your preferred CFI into the aircraft and the Sim Center. We believe you should have the freedom to choose the mentor that fits your learning style.

Safety is our non-negotiable priority, and unscheduled maintenance is a reality of aviation. We perform rigorous inspections to minimize downtime, but if the aircraft is grounded for any reason, all active bookings for that period will be cancelled. Upon returning the aircraft to service, we will prioritize those members whose flights were cancelled. Please note that we do not offer account credits for unscheduled maintenance. We recommend all members keep their schedules flexible and check the aircraft status before heading to the airport.

“Unlimited” means you never pay an hourly rental fee. To ensure every member has fair access, our system allows you to hold two active reservations at any time. As soon as you land and close out your flight, you can immediately book your next session. This “Fly-then-Book” system, combined with our 4-slot daily schedule, ensures the calendar remains fluid and accessible for everyone.
