The Jaybird Standard
Terms of Membership
We believe in transparency and professional-grade standards. While our full legal framework is being finalized for our February 2026 launch, here are the core pillars of the Jaybird Flight Membership Agreement
The Clean Wing Fuel Policy
Fuel to Tabs: To ensure every member has a predictable experience, the aircraft must be returned fueled to the tabs after every flight.
Oil Management: Members are responsible for checking oil levels pre-flight and adding oil as necessary.
Billing: As a dry rate membership, fuel costs are managed directly by the member at the pump or via the FBO
Scheduling & the 3.5 Hour Rule
Punctuality: Members must return the aircraft and complete the Handover Checklist within their allotted 3.5 hours block.
Handover Period: A 30-minute buffer is built into the calendar between sessions for post-flight cleaning and next pilot pre-flight
Cancellations: We maintain a 24-hour cancellation policy to ensure maximum availability for the other 23 members.
Safety & Maintenance
The Safety First Clause: If a member grounded the aircraft for a legitimate maintenance “squawk”, no penalties are incurred. We prioritize safety over the schedule.
Maintenance Continuity: As an unlimited model, monthly dues are fixed. No refunds or prorated dues are issued for scheduled or unscheduled maintenance downtime; this ensures the aircraft remains in top-tier condition for the long term.
Insurance Requirements
Non-Owned Coverage: All members are required to maintain a personal “renters” (non-owned) insurance policy.
Minimums: Proof of a policy with minimum of $20,000 Hull Coverage and $1,000,000 Liability must be on file before first flight.
Nature of Operations (FAR Part 91)
The Jaybird Flight membership operates as a non-exclusive dry lease program under 14 CFR Part 91.
Non-Commercial Use: This aircraft is provided for personal, recreational, and private business use only. Members are strictly prohibited from using the aircraft for compensation or hire.
Operational Control: The member acknowledges that for every flight conducted under this agreement, the member maintains full operational control. This includes sole responsibility for the intitiation, conduct , and termination of all flight activities, as well as ensuring the aircraft’s airworthiness before takeoff.
No Common Carriage: Under no circumstances shall the member hold themselves out to the public as a common carrier or provide air transportiation services to third parties for a fee.
Dry Lease Status: This agreement is for the leaseof the aircraft only. Jaybird Flight does not provide, select, or mandate flight crews. Members are responsible for providing their own FAA-certified crew who meet the insurance requirements as outlined.
Professional Conduct
Community Culture: Jaybird Flight is a membership, not a rental fleet. Members are expected to treat the aircraft and lounge as if they owned it.
Checkouts: All members must complete an intitial checkout with a properly rated CFI to ensure proficiency with the Dynon/Avidyne glass suite and the O-300 powerplant.
The final, legally binding Membership Agreement will be provided to all approved applicants for digital signature prior to the February launch. By applying today, you acknowledge these core operating principles.
